Tea Total

05Nov10

So pre-production of ‘Tea’ is going well. A list of jobs has been created and delegated to my team which we’re all working on and have deadlines for which is great.

Locations have been sorted out, we needed a cafe, a pub and a house/flat location so all 3 have been found and finalised, very happy with all 3, should make for a good film!

Overall I’m happy with progress, both what I’ve wrote on here and all other aspects, team are working well together and everyone’s doing a great job, especially Leigh, she’s contributed a lot, done a lot of tasks and sometimes even feels like the producer or at least production assistant so nice one Leigh!

These are my teams roles btw:
Me – Producer
Alessandra – Production Assistant, Locations Assistant & Titles
Dave Roddis – Director
Phil Bircham – AD, Locations Manager, Health & Safety rep, Photographer & Titles Designer
Sonny – Camera & Lighting
Eric – Sound, Post Production Effects & Costume
Tom Frecknall – Lighting & Sound Assistant
Leigh – Editing & Camera Assistant

Well…its definitely been a while! Don’t know why I haven’t been updating this, suppose it’s because I’m lazy?…Yeah about right, my bad. Should definitely start getting back into this again, used to quite enjoy it, what went wrong…

So work wise, got a WHOLE LOT to do! Flash quiz is coming along nicely, film is going really well, onto our second edit, working good, 3D on the other hand, lets just say that’s not the pathway I’m gonna be doing next year! I dunno if its just because I haven’t got used to it yet, but man its complicated! Definitely not for me although would still be good to have the skill to use. Visual essay, not really that good to being saying at this point that I don’t have a clue what I’m gonna be doing lol but I’m sure that’ll all slot together nicely…hopefully.

Definitely going onto moving image next year, which should be pretty awesome, think that’s always what I’ve had my mind set on though which is a good position to be in unlike most people. Should be good, meeting a load of new people…that’s the thing, is it just me, or does anyone else find it slightly weird, the fact that there’s still another 2 thirds of our course that we don’t know?! Lol, weird thought, so hey to all who’ve decided on moving image!

Pixilation, a little sad, but never the less, festive fitting and…DONE!

This was a video project that I did at college. I decided to do a video of about my course mates and a couple of friends talking about their college experience from the past 2 years we were there. I asked a couple of questions and edited it together in a montage style. I was very happy with the result and other people were too.

Ok, so this may look a little weird to some people. Just lately I’ve been posting a few things to do with stop motion…although this was my first project and I’m now on my last (Interactive Narration). Thing is, I’ve still not completed the pixilation project so I’m still a little behind and as a result, am still looking up on pixilation/stop motion. Bad times! But here’s a few stop motion videos I’ve found that I like.

I like this comedy of this video and the kind of sense that the wooden model is almost alive.

This video is definitely popular amongst everyone and I’ve seen it popping up on quite a few people’s blogs. This is an extremely clever video that must of taken forever to make! I like it a lot.

This video is awesome! Enough said.

I found this video a while back. Its a video about Pez, those cool little sweets I’m sure many people ate when they were younger…and me not so long ago as well actually! Lol. With all their cool Pez dispenses in every cartoon character imaginable. Anyway, I Digress. Yeah this video is cool and very well made and by the looks of it, probably took a decade to complete!

And Finally

This crazy one!

I decided to make a couple of tests for pixilation, like a montage of different scenes to try out a couple of things I’ve seen other people do and things i liked. So i got my friend to help and did this.

Toy Story 3-D!

29Nov09

With this whole new 3D hype with new films in 3D coming out in there plenty, Toy Story 3 is coming out…IN 3D! Although it wont be hitting the cinemas till June 2010, its a pretty exciting thing to be happening!

I don’t think it would ever be possible to find someone who didn’t like Toy Story 1 & 2, but if somehow, someone does…WHO ARE YOU?! Everyone my age should love Toy Story. Why? Because we grew up with it and it was the best animation busting film of its time. It set new heights for animated films. Even parents and people older than us should love it too.

I think its gonna be a massive hit with everyone when it finally comes out. I’m definitely going to go see it.

Here’s the trailer for it in HD.

TOY STORY 3 TRAILER

So the date is pretty scarily fast approaching! All 3 projects have to be completed by week 20 and presented to our tutors…or is the the rest of the course as well, I hope not! So with all that to do which leaves 2 weeks to do it, there’s still the little task of the 1500 WORD ESSAY!

To be honest I haven’t got a clue what I’m meant to be writing about. The subject is ‘Design Methodologies’ which sounds, well pretty interesting…

It brief says we should discuss and argue, research and examine three different design processes. Alright cool, so I’m guessing it would be wise to choose the 3 we have studied so far: Pixilation, One Shot and Interactive Narration, right? Who knows eh. This is how they want it setting out:

-Abstract
-List of illustrations
-Contents page
-Introduction
- Design Process One
- Design Process Two
- Design Process Three
- Conclusions
- Bibliography
- References
- Appendices.

So this is going to be a first for me because I’ve actually never wrote an essay where you have to include all the references and appendices (whatever they are?!) in it. I seriously need to talk to someone about this. Maybe turning up to my tutorial for the first time ever would help so that’s what I’ll try do if my bed don’t hold me hostage like usual!
